OOTD - Uniform

Hej med jer,

(English summary below)

Do you know those periods where you keep ending up in variations of the same outfit? I am there at the moment. I almost always wear jeans/a skirt, a simple tee and a biker jacket. Ok, then I try to spice it up a bit with scarves, a necklace or other accessories, but it is really my standard uniform at the moment ;-)

The skirt is new and from Carmakoma. I have had my eye on it for a while, but suddenly it was sold out in my size and I panicked, because NOW I wanted it ;-) Found it in a store and bought it right away. There is really nothing better than a classic black skirt in a good quality and my "Rosie" is too big now.

I can definitely recommend Francolin, if you need a black skirt that is just a little bit more than a pencilskirt. It has very nice drapings and the cut is just made to accentuate your curves. I think I am going to get this skirt in every available colour! ;-)

Skirt "Francolin" - Lab 27 by Carmakoma // Biker jacket "Anso" - Gina Tricot // Tee - H&M // Necklace - Anna Della Russo for H&M // Wedges (yes, you probably know by now where they are from ;-) I just love them so much!) // Head over heels @ Dorothy Perkins // Overknee socks - H&M

Every girl should own...

Hej med jer,

(English summary below),

This is an outfit from last week. It consist of two things that, in my opinion, should be in every woman's closet. A classic white shirt and a leather skirt.

I have wanted a leather skirt og dress for a long time, because we all know how much I love leather ;-) But I could not find the right one. A while ago I happend to buy a second hand leather dress, but when it arrived, it was just not what I had expected. The sleeves and the neckline were not at all flattering on me. And so it just hang around in my closet. Until I got a brilliant idea! ;-) I could get a tailor to alter it to a skirt. That should not be too much work, as the dress was already naturally cut in two parts. But the tailor did not agree. She said that it would require a reconstruction of the entire peice of clothing and that would cost me more than I had paid.

But, I am not the kind of person that gives up that easily (vertainly not when it comes to clothes!) so I decided to alter the dress myself. I cut the dress in half where the "natural" parting already were, sewed in a waistband, cut up the back seam and put in a full length zipper. And I actually really like the result. In your face stupid tailor! ;-)

I am by no means a skilled seamstress/tailor and this project could just as easily have failed miserably, as is the case for most of my DIY projects there is often quite a long way from my mind to the finished product ;-) More often than not I am overly ambitious compared to my actual skill level. But I am determined and never limit myself because of little things like skills :-D

Welcome to the Moulin Rouge!

Hej med jer,

(English summary below)

Last Friday I was at the annual office Christmas Party. As always it was a really beautiful event and this years theme was: Moulin Rouge - French and fabulous. I love an occasion to dress up and decided to find the perfect Moulin Rouge outfit (which was also appropriate for a work function with colleagues and bosses ;-)). I know I did not want "costume", I wanted "fashion".

I looked hard to find the perfect dress and did not find it before my friend Stine offered my to borrow her pin-up dress (which she is wearing in this post).  It was SO perfect for the theme! Thanks Stine <3

I added a veiled top hat, red lips and high heels and I was ready to party!

This poster was put up in the elevators in the office, inviting us to the Moulin Rouge

The "French and fabulous" menu. Really good food! (I haven't applied a filter, the light was red in the dinning room. Very Moulin Rouge)

Dress - HR London (borrowed from Stine) // Top hat - Accessorize // Bangle - H&M // Wedges - Head over heels @ Dorothy Perkins

I felt very good in this dress, even though it is a liiiiiittle more cleavage than I normally show, especially at work ;-) The dress cinches you in in all the right places, because of the corset like feature in the front and shapewear was not even necessary! I got so many compliments that night, if that was the cleavage or not, I cannot say ;-)
